I loved this book. A real page turner with action scenes so visceral and well described at points I honestly forgot I was reading. Cooley does such a good job with pacing, character, plot and just keeping everything racing along. An engrossing, fast-paced, action-packed read that fans of Tom Clancy and Don Winslow should love. I mention these 2 authors because I find Clooney's totally 3D characters and political awareness to be as good as Don Winslow. I find Cooley's action and extremely well researched, but not boring or teachy facts to be reminiscent of the best of Tom Clancy. You'll read, you'll have a blast, you'll love the characters and facts, from military hardware to political or social history, to geography and landmarks, all are spot on, fun to ingest, color the story and not at all boring. He's a great writer and if you like page-turner thrillers you can't go wrong with this book.Product details

Could not put the book down. Great action. Well written. Sour is a terrifying good person. His character needs to live.
Right from the beginning this book grabs you. Very suspenseful. The murders, the descriptions are intense. At one point, I had to get up and walk around to calm down. All and all I can't wait to read the next book. Fantastic!!!!
This books grabs you from the first page and is impossible to put down. The characters are intriguing and well developed and the story flows like Cooley is a seasoned veteran thriller author. Sour reminds me vaguely of Mike from Breaking Bad. Has bad in him but you find yourself rooting hard for him. Which makes him wholly relatable. Excited to see what more Cooley has to offer.
Another great read by Aaron Cooley! I was immediately hooked and couldn't put my down! The characters were real and relatable, especially Sour. This was a quick read , but left me wanting more. Aaron definitely writes in the style of one of my favorite authors, John Grisham, with new twists and surprises sprinkled along the way to keep you guessing! I also really enjoyed the setting of Bisbee, Az, and including a family name as a main character. I can't wait for the next book!
This book was impossible to put down! From the very first chapter, you're pulled into the thick of the story and you can't slow down until you find out what happens next. Cooley is an amazing storyteller, keeping the reader hooked into his characters and taking you on a wild ride through to the very end.
This is a great, quick reading story that seems quite appropriate given our political climate. i especially enjoyed how he wove in parts of his previous series, 4 Seats, to provide an "oh ya" moment. Way to bring it Mr. Cooley.
The newest novel by Aaron Cooley captured my interest in the first chapter. Sour Manco, an out to pasture FBI operative with many haunting demons, is the keeper of numerous mysteries. Suddenly, he is quietly persuaded to resume active duty with a great looming threat to him and those he loves. The Guns of Ridgewood won't let you down and it's a must read for anyone who loves political thrillers. Add Aaron Cooley alongside John Grisham, Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum for electrifying adventures with trembling thrills.
